COMPANY PROFILE

Tcpropagation Ltd establishment after Plant Technology Ltd which was established in 1988 in the Innovation Centre of University College, Dublin. It arose from biotechnological research being conducted in the Department of Horticulture by two of the company’s founders.

Extensive research has been conducted into micropropagation and horticultural systems. To date the company has experience in over 300 species of plants and has had many research breakthroughs in growing technology.

In 1992 Plant Technology moved to a new, purpose built facility in Wexford and and was the largest tissue culture Company in Ireland and the UK.

The company exported 90% of its production to markets including Europe, U.S.A, the Middle East, Australia, New Zealand and Japan.

Tcpropagation continued and has strong links with Universities and Research Institutes, maintaining it as a leading edge Biotechnology Company.

TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER

Establishment of purpose built laboratories in developing areas tailored to suit local market conditions for both food and ornamental crops.

Plant Technology has experience in the establishment of tissue culture laboratories in Africa, the Middle East and Central America. This can involve the supply of tissue culture production stock, production protocols, design of laboratories and the provision of training, management, expertise and marketing.

Dr Sayegh and the company had been consulted in commercial laboratory setting in Lebanon, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Morocco, Iraq and other countries. To mention few projects we involved are the following: EU funded PIP project to study Plant intellectual peroperiety to meetTWO needs, training the trainer in plant tissue culture(Iraq), Datepalm tissue culture (Iraq) potato seed micropropagation for micro tuber production (Lebanon) and root stock for stone fruit tissue culture (Morocco). Tcpropagation worked closely with Fitzgerald nurseries to improve sweet potato clean plants and new varieties of sweet potato for growers world wide and many other project for private companies

Dr AJ Sayegh and (ex IDARDA research associate and Mr Fintan Moran of DCU were the founder of plant technology.
